Reds Earn Late Win
The Cincinnati Reds overcame a pretty good performance by St. Louis right fielder Stan Musial, beating the Cardinals, 5-4, at Busch Stadium. Musial went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. Eppa Rixey earned the win in relief. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. He upped his record to 1-0. With the win, Cincinnati lifts its record to 3-6.

Cincinnati used the timely hitting of Sean Casey to seize the win. The pinch hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Reds on top, 5-4. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

Cincinnati manager was pleased with the team's effort. "Our guys played hard," he said.
