Minnesota Slaps 6-3 Loss on Rangers
|
The performance of Roger Peckinpaugh proved critical in helping Minnesota beat Texas, 6-3. The Twins shortstop was 3 for 4 with a triple and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The Twins saw their win-loss record go to 31-48. At the same time, the Rangers fell to 34-45.
Minnesota used the hitting of Kirby Puckett to pick up the win. The left fielder clubbed a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Twins on top, 4-3. For the game, Puckett had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
"We'll pop the top on a cold beverage and get back to work tomorrow," Peckinpaugh said.
