Indians Deal Padres Painful Loss
|
The home crowd was treated to a thrilling, walk-off win.
Cleveland overcame a superior effort from Jake Peavy to beat San Diego, 5-4. The San Diego pitcher threw 7.0 innings of 3-hit ball. San Diego falls to 5-4.
John Romano was the walk-off hero for Cleveland. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Indians catcher hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"This place went bonkers at the end," Romano said.
