Jose Rijo could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Cincinnati Reds lost, dropping a 3-2 decision to the Toronto Blue Jays at Great American Ball Park. Roy Halladay earned the win for Toronto. He lasted 7.1 innings, allowing 2 runs on 9 hits, while striking out 1. With the win, he raised his record to 10-5. Toronto now owns a record of 44-33.

Devon White had a big run-scoring double for the Blue Jays in the top of the first inning. With Toronto leading 2-0 and a runner on 2nd, he got a fastball from 26-year old right-handed pitcher Jose Rijo and swatted a double to center. It was his 12th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Blue Jays ahead, 3-0.

White told reporters after the game: "Runs were at a premium, so a good win for us."
