The New York Mets used a stellar performance from pitcher Jacob deGrom to throttle the Miami offense en route to an extra-inning, 4-1 win at Marlins Ballpark. The Mets upped their record to 43-33.

Though he did not get the decision, deGrom did all he could to keep his team close, twirling a shutout through 8 innings, until New York eventually rallied past the Marlins.

"There's a warrior mentality with this team," said Mets manager .
