Phillies Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
|
The Philadelphia Phillies earned a win at Busch Stadium, stopping the St. Louis Cardinals, 3-2. Starting pitcher Aaron Nola played a big role in his team's success. Nola, now 8-4, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 3, walking 0, and allowing 2 runs. The first-place Phillies now sit at 45-27.
Chuck Klein delivered a big hit for Philadelphia. The designated hitter drilled a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Phillies ahead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was a beauty.
"When you put in the effort and you get really focused, the results come in ways you're not even expecting," said Phillies manager .
