The New York Yankees picked up a win at Yankee Stadium, downing the Toronto Blue Jays, 5-2. On the mound for New York was right-hander Red Ruffing, who played a pivotal role in the win. The defeat makes Toronto 42-32.

First Baseman Lou Gehrig made an impact for New York, when he swatted a run-scoring triple off Doyle Alexander in the bottom of the third. For the contest, Gehrig went 2-4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
