Victory Pushes Phillies Record to 43-27
|
The Philadelphia Phillies got a good effort from starter Chris Short in defeating the Atlanta Braves at Turner Field. The final score was 3-0. Erskine Mayer earned his 24th save, after closing out the game. The Phillies raised their record to 43-27.
Philadelphia used the clutch hitting of Lefty O'Doul to snag the win. The designated hitter drilled a 2-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the Phillies ahead, 3-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a crucial one.
"Not too many highlights on our side," said losing manager .
