Slide Continues for Angels
|
Getting offensive support from Jose Ramirez, the Cleveland Indians topped the Los Angeles Angels, 9-6. Ramirez went 3-5 with 2 doubles. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2 for the Indians. The winning pitcher was Bob Feller. His record now stands at 7-6. The right-hander went 6 innings, allowing 3 runs on 4 hits for the Indians. Now 22-47, Los Angeles has dropped 12 games in a row.
Rocky Colavito had a big 3-run home run for the Indians in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Cleveland leading 4-3 and runners on 1st and 2nd, he sized up a fastball from 27-year old left-handed pitcher Jarrod Washburn and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the Indians on top, 7-3.
"You've got to be careful that you do not assume the attitude that, hey, we'll be fine. We'll be fine," Los Angeles manager said. "But we're not fine now, and it's time for us to do something."
