New York center fielder Mickey Mantle had a good game, even if his team did not. The Yankees dropped a 7-4 decision to Oakland at O.co Coliseum. Mantle was 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 3. Dennis Eckersley picked up the save, his 18th. With the win, the Athletics improved to 39-29.

The two teams provided some entertaining baseball for the O.co Coliseum crowd. Regardless of the outcome, a good time was had by all.
