Royals Topple White Sox with Late Rally
The Kansas City Royals outlasted George Davis and the Chicago White Sox, 8-6. Davis was impressive in the loss. The Chicago designated hitter was 4-4 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 2. The third-place Royals have a record of 34-35.

Kansas City won the game in part because of Carlos Beltran. The center fielder ripped a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Royals ahead, 8-6. For the game, Beltran had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.

Royals manager wasn't all too pleased, despite the win, telling reporters that the performance highlighted some clear areas for improvement moving forward. He refused to be more specific, however. "I'm not gonna publicize our weaknesses," he said. "That stuff stays in the clubhouse."
