Nationals Suffer 5-1 Setback
Max Lanier was masterful in helping the St. Louis Cardinals take down the Washington Nationals, 5-1. The Cardinals now have a mark of 37-31.

Ray Lankford had a big 3-run home run for the Cardinals in the bottom of the third inning. With St. Louis trailing 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he sized up a fastball from 22-year old right-handed pitcher Bill Gullickson and punished it. The result was his 3rd home run of the season, which put the Cardinals on top, 3-1.

"It was a good night for them and a bad night for us," said Washington manager .
