A good performance from left fielder Pete Rose Sr helped the Cincinnati Reds defeat the Milwaukee Brewers, 9-4. Rose Sr went 4-5 with a triple and 3 singles, while scoring 2 and driving in 2 for the Reds. Cincinnati raised its record to 34-33 with the win.

With Cincinnati leading 2-0 in the top of the third, Rose Sr batted against Milwaukee pitcher Teddy Higuera. Rose Sr hit a fastball to left-center for a 2-run triple. His 5th triple of the season put the Reds on top, 4-0.
