3-2 Loss Extends Minnesota Losing Streak
The Detroit Tigers racked up a win at Comerica Tigers Park, bumping off the Minnesota Twins, 3-2. Jim Bunning, who started for Detroit, pitched effectively for his team. Willie Hernandez notched his 15th save of the season. The second-place Tigers are now 33-34, the Twins 27-39.

Charlie Gehringer had a critical at-bat with two out in the bottom of the seventh for Detroit. He came through with a run-scoring single to put Detroit in front, 3-1.

"We're in a funk and we need to shake ourselves out of it," said Minnesota manager .
