1899 Al Best Rookie Picked

Today the AL announced the winner of the 1899 Rookie of the Year Award. The top-ranked rookie was the talented Milwaukee center fielder Carlos Moran.

The 21-year-old Brewers newcomer took the trophy by hitting .356 in 138 games this season and finished with 203 hits, no home runs, 59 RBIs and 119 runs scored.

He received 16 first place votes, as a unanimous winner. Noodles Hahn of the Cincinnati Reds finished second in voting, while Joe McGinnity of the Baltimore Orioles finished third.
